Mill Creek Canyon - Pipeline
Yesterday I hiked around Mill Creek with Charli, Hobbes, and Mogul. We started from the lowest parking lot at the trailhead to Rattlesnake Gulch. The weather wasn’t too bad for late April, mid-70’s with a pretty strong breeze.
The trail starts with a pretty good hike up the Rattlesnake Gulch. After some switchbacks and a couple nice view points, we met up with the Pipeline Trail that comes in from another trailhead further up Mill Creek Canyon. The hike was pretty easy for the next mile out to the overlook above Salt Lake City.
We followed some sort of trail along the ridgeline directly above the overlook. Charli, the dogs, and I eventually reached a high-point of about 6500 feet. Stopping to take some pictures of Salt Lake Valley, Mt. Olympus, Grandeur Peak, and the higher elevations of Mill Creek Canyon.
Not a bad hike for April. 4.15 miles and 2 hours and 15 minutes roundtrip. Check out some of the pictures in my Photobucket Album from today.
