I spent the afternoon with Jersey trying to get to his cabin in Mount Aire Canyon. Jersey owns two snowmobiles, a 1973 Ski Doo and a 1977 Arctic Cat “Pink Panther” 440. They cost him a combined $250. So, it wasn’t a huge surprise when we showed up at the Mt. Aire gate and couldn’t get either one to start. A half hour and some help from a neighbor later, we managed to get the newer sled running.
With Jersey and Drew on the sled, and Mitch and I getting towed behind on skis, we made our way up Mt Aire Canyon. Jersey’s spot is three miles up the road. We made it maybe a half mile before the sled overheated and came to a stop. After a short rest and a visit from Koenig, we decided to end our trip and ski back to the car.
Not much to say about the ride down. It was fun though. Kind of a weak ski day, but I’l count it anyway.
